Broken girl.

What do you say to a broken girl
A child that's laying silently on the floor
Do you watch her express her pain or run to her rescue
She doesn't need saving, just needs someone that will stay through the pain

She's shackled, broken, and torn

You can't see what she feels, only hears her silent groans

Her agony is self-reliant on the things you say

She needs constant clarification, she craves the knowledge of your need and appreciation for her

She needs love and not a fraction of it

She needs stability and not broken promises

She needs help but she can't be fixed

Or so she thinks

So I ask again do you rescue her or watch her break

Do you lend your hand and wipe her tears away

Do you tell her sweet nothings to ease her pain

Do you distract her from the case that separates

Do you stare, confused and unaware?

She's too scared to take your hand

Scared that once she gives in you will let go of her

You will inevitably let go

No one really can hold on for so long

So do you watch as she crumbles down, unable to steadily stand

Do you catch her at her first sign of weakness

Do you leave unable to witness the sight

The broken are simply better off with just being watched, from afar.
