Compassion. (1/2) ♤

I'm ashamed to see what the world has become. It's a shame to know that things will only get worse. We all are chasing after things that only help in our destruction. This we will learn the hard way. Being a part of this generation isn't something I'm proud of because each day society tells me who I am supposed to be and I conform to it because I stand no chance of fighting alone. Beauty standards are thrown in my face, and oppression and segregation remind me that even though I walk freely I don't belong. This generation has a lot to say, this generation certainly isn't quit. I hate to only highlight the bad but just because there is still good happening doesn't mean we ignore the bad.

Life once meant a lot to some people now the whole concept is disposable. What does life mean to you, not just your own but others? Let's face it our hearts aren't clean and we aren't all willing to go down with someone at our expense. Children are dying. Mothers are dying. Fathers are dying. Our very own brothers and sisters are dying. Nations are bleeding. War is on the rise. Who is going to save us? One man can’t fight this battle. We all are too caught up in the trends to realize that we are walking on fire and that our skin has burned.

We are lost in the world which will be our greatest downfall. What do you stand for? Who are you willing to fight for? What are you fighting for? Is there anything to fight for? I look around the world and my eyes begin to water because my heart aches to know that some have lost their compassion, the understanding of love and unity. We are all truly lost. It's about time we woke up and smelled the smoke. It's about time we recognize that we are the ones lighting the flames. Look around your country, are you proud of what you see? Do you side with the work of your government? I hate to break it to you but those who you voted for their the ones who chopped the wood.

I'm too young to vote for anyone, so then can I too be held accountable for my country's fall. Politicians smile, lawyers ask for cheques, doctors save lives, and the government is corrupt. My voice may not be loud enough but my words certainly are. I refuse to be conformed to the standards of society. When we meet our maker we all will be judged accordingly. I'm not perfect, I'm just a girl who refuses to hide that I too have done wrong and simply wants to do better.

Money has driven us to the very edge, I would save you but ultimately your greed for more would kill you. My venting has nothing to do with race for some reason we all come to this starting line. When we bleed the only color seen is red so we aren't that very different. What are you willing to do better? Are you willing to change and give up your selfish desires? I guess those questions we all will face someday if not today or tomorrow. Blood stains our streets while we protest about all the wrong things. How do we have no regard for someone who once lived and walked on the ground we walk on?

I've learned the hard way in growing compassion and forgiving those who have done me wrong so I know how hard it is but it isn't impossible. We are all so quick for the fast life we miss out on knowing when to press the brake that we crash. I don't have all the answers but unity is definitely a solution. I want a long life but each day we jeopardize that for someone else's. The earth we live on is going to crumble. Can you guess whose fault it will be? I wouldn't be surprised if I went to sleep on a quiet street and woke up to the world burning in flames..with absolutely nowhere to escape. If this were to happen what would you do? I don't know if you're paying attention to the news but wildfires are knocking at our doors. Are you feeling the heat?

This is just me unleashing all my worries for the world I live in. This is me begging that everyone wakes up and smells the smoke. This is me hoping that my words won't be silenced. This is me crying out for all lives lost because our values weren't set on a sound foundation. I am ashamed for having to judge you all. I am sick to my stomach that life has lost its value. I pray that my God will save us from all the evil that plagues the earth. I pray that he saves us from ourselves before we are too far gone.

My voice is not loud enough but my
words are. Allow my words to reach your heart in hopes that you grow compassion.
